Paul Mucci
Non-Executive Chair
Paul is President of Fidelity Capital, the emerging business development arm of Fidelity Investments and Chairman of ProBuild. It was under his leadership that Fidelity Capital entered the building materials market with the purchase of the Strober Organization in 1997. Prior to his appointment as Fidelity Capital President, Paul was a Managing Director of Fidelity Broadband Group. He was also President and Chief Executive Officer of MetroRED – a South American telecommunications company in which Fidelity Broadband Group is a major investor.
Paul joined Fidelity in 1994 as Fidelity Capital’s Chief Financial Officer. He was named acting president for Community Newspaper Company in 1995 and in 1996 became a managing director in Fidelity Capital and resumed his role as Fidelity Capital’s CFO, a position he held until becoming a managing director for Fidelity Strategic Investments in 1999.
Before joining Fidelity, Paul was a Vice President of Finance for Wang Laboratories in both the United States and Europe and Senior Vice President of finance at General Cinema Theatres. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
Fredrick Marino
Vice Chairman
Fred is responsible for developing business and identifying new areas of opportunity for growth. As the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Strober Organization, he led the team that acquired Strober and took it private in March 1997. Fred also led the acquisitions that created ProBuild, starting from $150 million in annual revenue in 1997 through its current $ 6 billon running rate.
Before joining Strober Fred was President and a major stockholder in Marino Industries Corp., a producer of lightweight steel framing systems founded in the 1930’s. He sold that business, now known as Marino/Ware, in 1993.
Fred serves on the Executive Committee of the Policy Advisory Board for the Harvard Joint Center on Housing Studies and is a member of the Presidents’ Council of the Home Improvement Industry. He serves also on the board of directors of HomeAid, a national non-profit provider of housing for the homeless. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, and has attended specialized management programs at Harvard University, Babson College, and the State University of New York.
Paul Hylbert, Jr.
Chief Executive Officer
Paul joined ProBuild as a result of its acquisition of Lanoga Corporation, where he was President and CEO. The former Lanoga locations now comprise a large part of ProBuild’s national holdings.
Prior to joining Lanoga, Paul spent nine years as President of PrimeSource, one of the largest distributors of building materials in the United States. He began his career in the lumber industry at Wickes Companies where, during his 21 years of service, he held a variety of positions from warehouseman to Managing Director for Wickes’ European and Mid-East operations.
Paul holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison University. He is on the Board of Trustees for The Homebuilding Community Foundation and serves on the Advisory Board at The Joint Center-Housing Studies at Harvard University.
Ben Phillips
Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Corporate Relations
Ben is the former Chief Executive Officer of The Contractor Yard, which operates more than 40 lumber and building material distribution centers located primarily in the Southeastern United States. The Contractor Yard was acquired by Fidelity Capital in 2004 and is now one of ProBuild’s 10 regional brands. In his role as ProBuild’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Relations, Ben works with both regional and division presidents, providing guidance and support for inter-company operational issues. He also provides support in the areas of strategic planning, acquisition development and vendor strategy. As ProBuild’s Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s operations nationwide.
His 30-year building materials industry experience includes the presidency of Pelican Companies, Inc., which under his leadership grew from 10 to more than 50 distribution centers.
Ben began his career with Lowe’s Companies where he worked for 20 years. He received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive Program.
Joseph Todd
Senior Vice President of Market Development
Joe has two decades of experience in the building material and home building industry. Prior to assuming his current ProBuild position he was the Executive Vice President of the Strober-Haddonfield Group. He held numerous management positions at Haddonfield Lumber Company before becoming a partner in 1994.
When Haddonfield Lumber Company became part of the Strober Organization, Joe co-managed the newly formed Strober-Haddonfield Group until his move to Strober headquarters. While at Haddonfield Lumber, Joe formed and was the principal of Total Computer Services, a computer business that specialized in products and services for the homebuilding industry.
Joe has been a partner in several land and real estate ventures, as well as an advisor on several homebuilder and industry councils.
George Finkenstaedt
Senior Vice President - Corporate Development
George has more than 25 years of experience in the building products business. He started his career as a contractor, spent several years on the manufacturing side of the forest products business, and has held numerous positions in operations, merchandising, and business development in building materials distribution with Wickes Lumber. At Lanoga he was responsible for the development of large builder business, coordinated the activities of national purchasing and supply chain initiatives, contributed to M&A efforts, and was responsible for environmental affairs as VP Market Development.
At ProBuild George is responsible for ProBuild’s corporate development, supporting the company’s acquisition activity across the United States. He has been a participant on the Policy Advisory Board of the Joint Center for Housing at Harvard University and an associate on several industry advisory boards. George earned a BA from Trinity College (CT), an MBA from Harvard Business School, and has attended a number of Executive Education programs at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Thomas W. Ryan
Chief Financial Officer
Tom is one of ProBuild's newest team members. Before joining in 2007, Tom served as vice chairman of Allied Waste Industries, the second largest waste removal company in the United States. While at Allied, he also served as executive vice president and Chief financial officer. Before his tenure at Allied, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer for Federal Mogul Corporation.
Tom brings to ProBuild over 35 years of financial experience. He earned his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University.
John O'Loughlin
Senior Vice President - Human Resources
John previously served as senior vice president of human resources at Corporate Express Inc., a Denver-based subsidiary of Dutch office products supplier Buhrmann N.V. Prior to that, he was vice president of human resources at DSC Communications Corporation. He has also held senior level human resources positions at McKesson Corporation and Pepsi-Cola North America.
O’Loughlin earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas Technological University and master’s in business administration from University of North Texas. John joined ProBuild in 2007.
