Broken Arrow, OK, (March 20, 2007) – Tulsa, Oklahoma based Hope Lumber & Supply, a division of ProBuild Holdings and a major supplier of high-quality building materials to professional builders and contractors, announced today that it has purchased Houston, Texas based Merit Millwork. Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
Merit Millwork operates two facilities offering Houston area builders access to extensive stock inventories as well as custom manufacturing capabilities.
“We are very excited to have Merit Millwork join our organization” said Jim Cavanaugh, president of ProBuild South. “Merit’s long history of quality products coupled with superior service has helped them build a very successful business in Houston. We believe the addition of Merit will help Hope provide our customers with the most comprehensive “whole product” millwork solution in Houston,” continued Cavanaugh.
Following the completion of the acquisition, Merit will begin doing business as Hope Lumber & Supply. The owner and chief executive officer of Merit Millwork, Jim Darling, will remain with the company and will join Hope’s management team in Houston. “We’re happy to be part of Hope and the ProBuild family of companies. The future looks great,” said Darling.
