ProBuild To Develop New Manufacturing Facility In West Point, VA

Boston, MA (October 10, 2006) - ProBuild Holdings, the nation's largest provider of building materials to professional contractors, announced today that it will develop a new truss and wall component manufacturing operation in the West Point Industrial Park shell building in West Point, VA. U.S. Components, LLC, ProBuild's manufacturing division, made the purchase and expects the plant to come online in the next few months. The project, which represents an estimated $6.4 million capital investment within the first 36 months, will begin in the fourth quarter of 2006 and will create a minimum of 104 jobs within 30 months of completion of the new facility.

The new facility, which will utilize state-of-the-art, precision laser assembly setup and computerized sawing technology, will provide roof and floor trusses as well as wall panels to the Virginia and North Carolina locations of The Contractor Yard, ProBuild's building materials supply division in the southeastern United States.

"Our entry into Virginia represents a tremendous opportunity for U.S. Components to further expand its manufacturing coverage area within the Southeast," said Dave Walstad, president of U.S. Components. "This not only plays into ProBuild's aggressive strategy to increase its manufacturing capacity, but also allows U.S. Components to more effectively serve The Contractor Yard's customers in this area by providing them with a full range of truss and wall panel products."

"One hundred and four new job opportunities is outstanding news for the region, and U.S. Components offers an above average annual wage and excellent benefits," said Virginia Governor Timothy M. Kaine. "West Point will benefit from the diversity that U.S. Components adds to the industrial base as well as employment opportunities that fit within the community's strategic plan for development."
